Arizona Chefs Move to Schools

Have you hear about Chefs Move to Schools yet? The program founded in May 2010 is an integral part of the First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative to combat childhood obesity, malnutrition, and for healthier kids. The American Culinary Federation has the honor of serving a leadership role on the national coalition in charge of shaping this programs future.

What does this mean for Arizona? We are working on a committee to remove communication barriers and to be a resource for our community to support this very important program. We need to come together to support these goals of helping our nations child to develop healthier eating habits for a healthier life. This truly is a way we can serve our country.

So how can you get started? Chefs, go to www.chefsmovetoschools.com and sign up. If there is a school district signed up for the program in your area, contact the school representative to see how you support these efforts.

Resources for how you can implementing successful events are located with in the Chefs Move to Schools site with more resources are being gathered and will posted in one area and shared through Culinary Notes.

No matter what happen's in politics, this program is here to stay no matter who's in office. We have a lot of work to do and encourage volunteers step forward to help support a healthier futures of Arizona's children.
